The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) welcome you to IDWeek 2023.
General Information
IDWeek is the joint annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP). IDWeek is a recognized forum for peer-reviewed presentations of new research on scientific advances and bench-to-bedside approaches in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and epidemiology of infectious diseases, including HIV, across the lifespan.
IDWeek 2023 is scheduled for Oct. 11-15 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The on-site newsroom will be located in room 158.
Media Eligibility & Press Badges
Press badges are available only to working press who can show evidence that their attendance results in coverage of IDWeek in print, broadcast or online media.
Advance registration is recommended for all media who would like to cover the meeting; even those who can only cover it remotely. Media who would like to register for IDWeek 2023 should contact McCabe Message Partners (IDSA@MessagePartnersPR.com) with 1) identification certifying that you are a working member of the print, broadcast or online news media 2) or a letter stating that you are on assignment to cover the meeting and 3) written agreement to honor the embargo policy.
On site, a registration badge is required for media to gain admittance to IDWeek. Press badges may be obtained in the newsroom.
IDWeek does not issue press badges to: a publication’s advertising, marketing, public relations or sales representatives; publishers, editors or reporters from manufacturers’ house organs or promotional publications; public relations staff of exhibitors or educational institutions; writers creating analyses or reports sold as a commodity to customers; or other individuals who are not reporting on the meeting. Exhibitors may not register as press.

Covering the Meeting
Registered members of the working press are welcome to attend all scientific programs during IDWeek.
Videotaping & Photography
Flash photography and audiotaping, if done in an unobtrusive manner, are acceptable in scientific sessions and the exhibit hall when permission is obtained in advance from the speaker(s). Videotaping or photography requiring distracting flash devices, special lighting and/or bulky equipment is prohibited while scientific or plenary sessions are in progress. Lighting and flash photography are allowed during interviews in the newsroom, but crews must provide their own energy source and not plug in to house outlets.
Please Note: All TV camera crews must be accompanied by a member of the newsroom staff unless other arrangements have been made through the newsroom.
Services
Internet services, telephone, printing, photocopying and fax transmission will be provided through the newsroom. Additional services are available at the business center.
Embargo Policy
All exhibitor news releases, media alerts and other news materials regarding research presented at IDWeek must be embargoed until the start of the meeting on Oct. 11 at 12:01 a.m. ET, with the exception of research findings presented at IDWeek-sponsored press conferences. Those findings are embargoed until the start of the specific press conference.
